Savannah, have you met…

What brought you to Savannah?
I got married last year and we were looking for a new place to call home. My husband, Aaron has family here and does real estate investment in Savannah. He also owns a mattress company called The Rest Stop and thought Savannah would be a great location. We wanted to be relatively close to Atlanta and near the water. So, here we are!

What does your normal day to day consist of as the founder and creative director for Revolver Studios?
The thing I love about what I do is that it’s different everyday. The clients and projects are constantly changing and it gives me exposure to so many unique industries. We’re working on an Explainer Video for a client in CA right now, so today I did a bunch of screen recording, but tomorrow will be completely different.

You and your husband, Aaron are know to travel. Name your favorite place and where do you hope to visit?
Paris is my favorite city on earth and the place I’ve been to most repeatedly. We’re going to Israel next week, very excited about that. Top of the dream trips short list is the Seychelles Islands.

Since coming to town you have been known to support several boutiques and local designers. Who are your favorites?
There are so many! I am a huge fan of what Risha Carnes at Extant Fair and Kyle Hinton of Prospector Co. are doing. They take a really curatorial approach about educating their customer and sharing the story of the products they sell. For home stuff, I love The Paris Market and Clutter. Also, Lane Huerta or Lovelane is so Creative. I bought one of her custom Coordinate Pillows for my husband for our anniversary with the Latitude and Longitude of the place we met. Meredith Sutton’s jewelry is just plain badass. And lastly, I’m a sucker for Choolat by Adam Turoni, especially the Habanero Caramel Truffles. I buy them at a disturbing pace.

After a long day at work, how do you unwind?
I love a glass of red wine (ideally, by the fireplace). Even though the weather doesn’t quite make sense, I’ve been building a fire for the past week. I’m sitting there now!

What is one thing about yourself that most people would be surprised to know?
I salt everything.. even waffles. I get seriously scared in scary movies. I’m a master impersonator.

When you were a small girl, what was it that you wanted to be when you grew up?
A librarian.

How would you spend your perfect Saturday?
A long run or a swim, brunch with coffee and the Weekend Journal followed by lying around in Forsyth Park with Aaron and Bruno, our pug, maybe a little golf next (it’s my new thing!), then dinner and a movie at home with the aforementioned red wine and fireplace!

What is a guilty pleasure of yours?
Real Housewives. It’s a legit problem.

What do you dislike and like about living and running a business in Savannah?
Things definitely move a little bit slower here. I don’t mind it at all on the weekends, but when I’m on a deadline and no one’s answering the phone, it can be challenging!

The network of local business owners and entrepreneurs is so supportive and encouraging of one another. I’ve been really impressed with how much creative talent we have here, and also willing everyone is to give referrals and help each other grow.
